Obese flier turned away by airlines dies overseas
Tue Nov 27, 2012
This woman should not have been traveling, and should have stayed home until/unless her doctors could stabilize her condition. If she opted to travel anyway, she is responsible for her own death. The "blaming the victim" comment is silly.
Girls need just-in-case birth control prescriptions, pediatrics group says
Mon Nov 26, 2012
With sexual assault rates high on college campuses, I sent this -- Plan B -- with all of my children, including my son, when they went to college and I have always kept it in my own medicine chest (I live in a dangerous city).
Did the vice presidential debate do anything to influence who you will support in the election?
Thu Oct 11, 2012
I already voted by absentee ballot. I'm perplexed why so much weight is put on debates... Football in political form?
Did the first presidential debate do anything to influence who you will support in the election?
Wed Oct 3, 2012
Well you can tell America is a rock 'em, sock 'em society looking for tackles, face masks and fouls. The candidates are not football players, they will lead a (very divided, partisan) country. Aggressive might be appropriate on the football field, but it is not in a President.
Gun owners: 'We are your neighbors, co-workers, friends'
Wed Jul 25, 2012
The majority of people who are injured or killed by guns are shot by someone they know, not an anonymous thief. All of these wonderful people who own guns say "it won't be me.
Romney sons defend dad, say goofiness is part of his charm

And these young men have served their country in some capacity, for example in the Armed Forces? War zone service, anyone? Contributing time to some other cause? Honestly, who cares whether Mitt has a sense of humor.
'Three Cups of Tea' fallout: Are you more wary of the charities you donate to?
Thu Apr 5, 2012
This particular incident isn't what made me careful, there were scandals in the past (United Way, in particular) that have made me research and choose carefully before I write a check. For most reputable charities you can find at least the ratio of spending on administrative -vs- good works.
Too-beautiful British writer: 'The bile proves my point'
Wed Apr 4, 2012
Never did Ms. Brick claim she was a stunning woman. She only stated she thought herself to be reasonably attractive. If only the most beautiful of women attracted men, many (many) women would remain single -- meaning not attached to anyone romantically.
I would have done the same to a drunk, says priest who denied Communion to lesbian
Fri Mar 16, 2012
If only those "in a state of grace" (sinless, it appears, vice having gone to confession) may take communion, perhaps the Catholic church ought to give up offering the sacrament of communion altogether? Jesus died on the cross. With his departure from this life no one else qualifies.
6 secrets I learned at makeup artist school
Thu Jan 12, 2012
It is sad that women feel the need to put on so much makeup to feel attractive.
