- This woman should not have been traveling, and should have stayed home until/unless her doctors could stabilize her condition. If she opted to travel anyway, she is responsible for her own death. The "blaming the victim" comment is silly.

- With sexual assault rates high on college campuses, I sent this -- Plan B -- with all of my children, including my son, when they went to college and I have always kept it in my own medicine chest (I live in a dangerous city).

- Well you can tell America is a rock 'em, sock 'em society looking for tackles, face masks and fouls. The candidates are not football players, they will lead a (very divided, partisan) country. Aggressive might be appropriate on the football field, but it is not in a President.

- This particular incident isn't what made me careful, there were scandals in the past (United Way, in particular) that have made me research and choose carefully before I write a check. For most reputable charities you can find at least the ratio of spending on administrative -vs- good works.

- Never did Ms. Brick claim she was a stunning woman. She only stated she thought herself to be reasonably attractive. If only the most beautiful of women attracted men, many (many) women would remain single -- meaning not attached to anyone romantically.

- If only those "in a state of grace" (sinless, it appears, vice having gone to confession) may take communion, perhaps the Catholic church ought to give up offering the sacrament of communion altogether? Jesus died on the cross. With his departure from this life no one else qualifies.
